Course Summary

Safety training in the workplace is a must-have, not only to stay on the right side of Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) standards, but also to ensure a culture of safety to keep your working environment and employees accident- and injury-free.

Ethena’s Workplace Safety training course includes both an introduction to OSHA and a number of flexible modules covering important safety topics like exit routes and emergency planning, personal protective equipment, workplace ergonomics, and much more. Choose the modules that reflect your work environment for a customized, relevant training experience.

Included Modules:

Introduction to OSHA

An overview of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, including who it applies to, employer responsibilities, employee rights, how to report violations, and a General Duty Clause explainer.

Personal Protective Equipment

A discussion of the various types of PPE — such as gloves, ear plugs, safety glasses, hard hats, etc. — the hazards that require them, and proper use and maintenance.

Respiratory Protection

Covering the purpose of respiratory protection, the workplace hazards that can require it, proper wear and fit, and laws like OSHA’s Respiratory Protection Standard.

Access to Employee Exposure and Medical Records

Employees exposed to workplace hazards have the right to access their exposure and medical records. This training lays out employer responsibilities and what employees are entitled to in terms of access.

Bloodborne Pathogens

Covers definitions of bloodborne pathogens and potentially infectious materials, as well as general provisions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard and how to report an exposure incident.

Laboratory Safety

Learn about the types of laboratory hazards — chemical, biological, physical, radioactive, and safety — as well as controls and practices to protect lab workers.

Hazardous Chemicals

Examples of chemical hazards and toxic substances and the health issues they can cause, as well as how to ensure workplace chemical safety through exposure limits, PPE, and proper waste disposal.

Exit Routes and Emergency Planning

This training illuminates the elements of an effective exit route, lays out emergency planning best practices and necessary employee safeguards, and defines workers’ rights around training, filing complaints, and reviewing injury records.

Workplace Ergonomics

Poor workplace ergonomics can lead to Musculoskeletal Disorders, or MSDs. Learn about what MSDs are, spotting early signs, and how to implement ergonomic processes with engineering, administrative, and work-practice controls.

COVID-19

This short COVID-19 explainer includes background on the pandemic, OSHA guidelines for preventing the spread of disease, how to respond to an exposure, and your rights as an employee.

I love the examples you provided. These happen in REAL LIFE!
